Amadeus has great potential for shale oil. All data stacks up well against other shale plays in the US. Numbers speak louder than words.

    1. TOC is 3.16 - 3.42%. http://www.proactiveinvestors.com.au/genera/files/sponsor_files/geoscience_report_on_potential_of_georgina_basin__march_2011_4feaaea90652e.
But is as high as 10%.
    RC mentioned 9%, area unknown.

    2. S1 from five samples: 0.16, 0.11, 3.02, 1.80, 0.07 mg/g.
Therefore, 2 in 5 samples potential shale oil candidates.
    3mg/g TOC produces approx 48,000 bbl per 640 acre per feet. 15% TOC produces 106 litre/tonne. http://roxannaoil.com/AAPG-quick-look.pptx
Gas potential 1.83m acres. Oil potential 1.74m acres.

    3. VR is 1.35 - 1.75
Therefore, is oil producing. We know that in Meerenie and Surprise. No refernces are required.

    Comparison:
There are three categories of propects: conventional, S1 unconventional and S2 unconventional. The fact that conventional oil is found confirms the thermal maturity of the HVT. To expel 300mmboe oil from the oil shale, S1 must be pretty impressive. S1 is the hydrocarbon in the oil shale, harvested through lateral drilling and fraccing. S2 is the amount of hydrocarbon that can be converted from organic matter in the oil shale, that is where microwave, insitu heating ,etc are required; distance future development.

S1 is where all the hot money is chasing. Conventional is difficult to locate, but S1 can be harvested for a long period of time once the area is proven productive. An Eagle Ford well produces 300-600 bpd, valued at $15,000 -$25,000 per acre. http://www.industryweek.com/global-economy/study-eagle-ford-shale-play-tops-bakken-tight-oil Australia is $11-$14/acre. Once production is proven, the price will rocket a thousand times $11/acre to $11,000/acre. The risk reward is a no brainer.

Alaska Shale oil potential is 2 billion bbls, http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-02-27/alaska-s-shale-oil-tops-eagle-ford-trails-bakken-u-s-says.htmlAmadeus and that gives it the second largest US deposit of unconventional oil after Bakken Basin. S1 in Amadeus is estimated to produce 1 billion barrels, according to my calculation 2.6billion (but have to credentials to support it).

Eagle Ford VR factor is less than HVT, which is 1.35 - 1.75. http://www.worldoil.com/March-2012-How-local-variations-in-thermal-maturity-affect-shale-oil-economics-and-producibility.html

    Eagle Ford TOC ranges from 2 - 6% http://www.empr.gov.bc.ca/OG/oilandgas/petroleumgeology/UnconventionalGas/Documents/C%20Hall.pdf
    compared to HVT 3 - 9%.
