After school we roamed far and wide but had to come home when the street lights went on.

When bus fares went from a penny to thripence we had to chose between walking to school or walking home and ride one way.

You had to choose between between Cowboys and Indians in the playground or marbles. I was into marbles.

I insisted on crepe rubber soled shoes that only lasted a short while and was denied a repeat.

The in thing was going to the community library after school and listening to "Blinky Bill" being read in the dark by the librarian. Hence my Xmas request was that book.

The biggest thing was fire crackers and bonfires.

My Dad would hold them in his hand and let them off. Awesome.

Then there was bottled milk at playtime.

Kissing my first girlfriend in year 1 was the ultimate :-)
