Normally the by-laws state that there is a five year waiting list for full membership but given the output of posts by Cato/Norberto in the reasonably brief association with The R & A way surpasses the level normally attributed to a five year period, the committee may be persuaded to make an exception.

On a broader note, the first class condition we find ourselves in today has been an awfully long process with many hazards along the course. To think I first joined as a cadet member & now nearly qualify for senior's discount. The Royal & Ancient has certainly grown over the years & now with satellite clubs off Brazil & Peru offering reciprocal rights of play to members and each shaping up as Championship grade courses we really are in fine form. Dr Golf has done a wonderful job as Club President & Swanny as head of the Greens Committee has kept the course in terrific nick & of course we can't forget the Club Professional Dart who has managed to correct many a members grip & swing over the years. I look forward the AGM where Life Membership will be bestowed upon The Messiah for years of meritorious service on behalf of other members.
