After some thought my take is as follows:

    1. the company was under pressure from its bankers to raise capital and pay down debt
    2. you can't go to market to raise capital if you are sitting on price sensitive information - hence the need to notify the market of the potential takeover - albeit highly conditional
    3. having raised the flag re the corporate activity it may flush out some other interest and create some price tension (let's hope so!!)
    4. on a positive note we may be in the enviable position of being able to acquire stock at 52 cents and then sell it at around 1.03 - not bad if it comes off.

    Interesting times - GLTA
