I recall reading an announcement 1-2 years ago, just checked asx announcements http://asx.com.au/asx/statistics/announcements.do?by=asxCode&asxCode=aem&timeframe=Y&year=2011 it is the announcement dated 8/4/2011 page 2 of 28 that refers to "The Wailawi oil and gas project is a producing field and has further untapped oil and gas zones with material upside potential" the same announcement also on page 2 states "a very significant advantage of this project is that all infrastructure including pipelines, refinery complex and harbor facilities are already in place".

Hal200, I think you want to know if the current production is of a commercial quantity or simply care and maintenance. I believe the company is treating this as an exploration play with the ability to bring exploration success quickly to market.
