re: Ann: Notice of Annual General Meeting/Pro...
I have too many conspiracy theories going around in my head at the moment, lol...
The following is entirely speculation and bow-stretching.
So if Mantle is looking at participating in the tender process for an S7 allocation, it must surely be in conjunction with a tech partner, to satisfy the condition of low-emission uses of BC.
Exergen have stated that their $70m pre-commercial demonstration facility will be located in the Latrobe Valley.
Exergen are also applying for some of the ALDP money which is all about developing getting low-emissions technology to the pre-commercial demonstration stage and a condition of which is that a pre-commercial demonstration facility be built in the Latrobe Valley.
Mantle can't apply for ALDP funding - it isn't a tech company (at least not on its own).
Note that the coal allocation process and the ALDP are separate processes.
Add in BR's point about exactly where will Exergen be building this facility in LV? They don't have an allocation yet - that process isn't even open for tender yet.
So if there really is a secret plan for Exergen to build the plant on Mantle owned tenements, is it at all possible that Mantle is a project partner for the ALDP funding? And if that's the case, wouldn't Mantle have to inform shareholders prior to the submission deadline of 19 November that they are applying? Wouldn't be a bad announcement just a few short days before the AGM.
The reference to the tender process in the AGM documentation was probably just a throwaway line, but it does set the brain thinking.
I'm not at all convinced this scenario is necessarily the case, just throwing out some ideas based on the little trickle of information we see hidden in these announcements.
