re: Ann: Amadeus & Lonestar Agree to Create L... Gresley, I was wondering about your thoughts on AMU. I am not as bearish as you, although I think investors have had a rotten time of it. The buyback never did reach those dizzy heights of about 27c or whatever it was that the company promised in its explanatory memorandum back then. However, it is more accretive if companies buy shares back at a low price- I hate buybacks for that reason. AMU also didn't buy back as many shares as they said they would.

The significant and rapid rise in share price before this ANN... well, how did they know, huh? It turned out to be the dawn before the darkness, though, and the share price is back to where it was early in the buyback- even before that. The only thing I know is that if this keeps occurring- the share price fall- either AMU will ditch the deal as shareholders make their intentions known, OR some suitor will be able to get two companies- AMU and the new mob- as a 2 for 1.
