Having just said anything is for sale at a price.. I would agree with Kalenn and say such an offer of 23c would be called totally silly and purely opportunistic. Trying to take advantage of a weaker temporary SP. No chance.
You buy AVB for a very strong and steady SP growth... as jorc copper improves and mining gets closer and other discoveries are made... not a takeover, in my own opinion.
The current AVB market price can be demonstrated to be way undervalued. You would need to convince Xstrata, directors and other very major stakeholders to accept that offer and they would laugh, I am sure.(directors have 18c options as well)
Not only is AVB sitting on excellent JORC's, a very major and company-changing deal is on the way with Vale, there are extensive exploration tenements of high quality to be attacked and AVB just seems to be on a huge roll.
So 23c is tea-money. Try 40c - 50c and someone might think of letting you in the door for a chat... maybe.
Anyway, I personally believe it is academic. AVB is rocketing, and nobody is going to pick them up for a song....
