    Hi there pug

"Convenient to leave out any reference to time isn't it? And misleading!"

Cromwell, Robespierre, Marx, Hitler and Pol Pot all had "good press" in their early days.

In 1642, Parliament had reasonable grievances against King Charles. Cromwell was a minor political figure who was thinking about emigrating to America at the time of the Grand Remonstrance.

In 1791, Robespierre unsuccessfully moved to ban capital punishment in the new constitution.

In 1870, Marx was a family man who got drunk with his friend Engels and threw stones at gas lamps on the way home from the pub.

In 1934, Hitler was the saviour of Germany and held up as a model for economic recovery across the world.

In 1972, Pol Pot was being support by the Americans. (They were still funding him in 1980, in spite of the Killing Fields.)

In 2012, Ron Paul was a hard working Congressman from Texas who thought that it was a good idea for a government to reduce its debt during an economic slump...

Adjusting time references can cut two ways.
