QBE has been in uptrend since Jan, albeit ever so subtle.
The way I see it, a very large seller or sellers entered the fray on 13 Aug, and we have been in his/their grip ever since.
They relaxed a bit recently to allow the sp to get above $14, where they had a number of large X trades to effect at $14...as soon as that was done, they've brought the sp back to finish the sell at the point they had it before the $14 trades...gap up, gap down.
Situation makes for good trading if you are so inclined, but the seller will try to make it as hard for traders as possible while he's trying to unload stock.
Eventually the seller will have cashed the amount of stock he's going to, then we might see a better uptrend develop.
