Northern Star looks poised to start a new phase of its stellar journey.

The Managing Director, Bill Beamont, gave the most compelling presentation of all at the Gold symposium this week.

If the ASX wanted to know why the share price hit a new all time high the next day, the delegates at the company presentation could probably have told them. The talk was a good overview of a company in which a great deal is happening very rapidly in several key areas.

Firstly, the gold mining at Paulsen's is going very well. Production is rising and costs are low and falling, which is refreshing in this industry. And the plant is working very well, with an upgrade imminent. We are due to see just how well it is all going in the September quarterly report, due before next Thursday. But based on what I saw at the site visit a few months ago I suspect that the numbers are going to be strong.
