"Business as usual as Elders sets up sale"

    By Joanne Fosdike
    Oct. 31, 2012

Mr Jackman said by putting the rural services division on the market, Elders would have control over the sale.

"The issue behind us selling is not because the company is in trouble - in fact the opposite - people are interested in grabbing the company and we want to control the sale process."

Mr Jackman said Ruralco was one company interested in merging with Elders Limited.

"Ruralco has reached out to us and we said the contract you put to us needs more detail and to come back with that detail and we will look at it," he said.

"We think with the sale many others will be interested in talking to us as well."
