This is why MEL have gone cool on RVPS and what ERM have always been pursuing (600MW). So Metgasco gas could go south as well as north or east.
ROG’s Gillespie used to mention a Coffs area PS but I dismissed it at the time.
Transgrid recently abandoned a new transmission line to Lismore (from the Hunter coal-fired PSs) because the base load demand in the NR wasn’t there but ERM have peak power flexibility whereby they can turn the electricity on and off from a mobile phone in Brisbane and the turbines can produce said electricity in 10 minutes.
Very handy for Lismore when the Greenies turn on their air-conditioning at 5pm on a hot day and cause blackouts everywhere else.
