It must be noted that Colin Barnett lives in Cottesloe, a western beach suburb that has natures's free air conditioner, the sea breeze, when inner suburbs are stagnant. I'm sure at work, Parliament House, and when travelling in his car, the air con is fully functional. But it is true, his house isn't air conditioned.
However, I do agree with Colin Barnett to a degree. Air conditioning is over used. When I grew up only one of my friends' homes had air con, and that was a 2hp(1.5kw) hanging off a window. Now it's several splits or 10 outlet 15kw power guzzlers.
