These 'freethinkers' as you call them are always looking for the next crisis, war, tragedy or disaster that's gonna make them rich, a perspective on life I find extremely odd.

The latest one is the 'fiscal cliff' that's gonna drive gold into deep space, but it's been described more as a slope, something that will resolve itself in the next few weeks much to goldbug disappointment.

The conundrum at the moment is that gold has gone up as has the USD which was supposed to die in the year 20__. (Add you own last 2 digits)

The 'freethinkers' have mostly got lucky with gold, because no one Earth knows how to value it, which is why it's described as "the world's most respected ponzi scheme".
