I paid $460 for a high pressure water cleaner with a 2y replacement warranty 7 months ago. Anyway I flogged it and it started playing up.
Took it back yesterday (Bunnings) and they said they no longer sold them doe to 'problems' and I could have a store credit that I had to use in 14 days and they would only give up to $9.99 change.
I explained that I bought the item on their recommendation and now wanted to purchase one from a specialist down the road. I also said I didn't have anything else to spend the $460 on in their store in next 14 days and that I understand the ACCC rules pretty well.
5 mins of deep discussion between themselves later and they refunded me in full. This is a good sensible outcome for both parties and I'm pleased to see they can make decisions like this at department level, not even going to store mgr.
They'll get my business again.
