I think you are off the track.
Options are offered to the directors as a reward for a job well done over the previous 12 month period.
Usually they are offered at a discount to the share price prior to the agm or for free.
These options are being offered to the directors at a premium to the current share price. It reflects the confidence that the directors have in the share price going forward.
They will be required to find collectively over $1.8million of their own money to take up these options.
The annual salary that the executive of NWE pay themselves is very modest when compared to other companies.
Nwe directors have guaranteed Capital raising and the placement of shares in the past. They have put themselves and their skin in the game.
For the benefits that they have brought to the NWE shareholders I will be supporting the passing of this resolution strongly at the AGM.
