lucas heights in sydney (has been scaled down recently) has been going for years and supplies isos for x rays etc ...you don't see everyone running away from Sydney..
on top of that there are huge area's in Aus where the plants could be located...i think they call them desert's...
IMO this country should be a world leader in nuke power and processing/storing of waste because we have the stable geology,politically stable and a huge amount of unused marginal land.
it's not rocket science..
