re: sinking like a pricked balloon tastarga: Resolute made a packet heap-leaching at Bullabulling as did Newcrest at Telfer...& that's just the ones I know of. It is definately a legitimate way to get the gold out of a low-grade orebody of considerable size. Very long lead time, infrastructure development, leach pads, etc...no chance of having anything going by Xmas even if you had already done the prestripping. Pretty good way to completely destroy a few hectares of environment also.
