Hmmm... the deal is immunity from prosecution for Saddam and his cronies by International Court for crimes against humanity.

Saddam's greatest fear would be no martyrdom and ignominious end incarcerated for the rest of his life.

I have felt that all the 'brinkmanship' re the US led war was deliberate to scare the shit out of Saddam who like all dictators has no balls ...

Like all dictators he is a tough guy when he is the only one in the room with a gun.

A couple of months ago it was rumoured he offered Syria $6billion for lifetime asylum for himself and family.

A peaceful resolution could save the UN from oblivion and US led coalition of 'liberators' would do it ...

Would also save about US$200billion being the latest estimate of the cost of the war.
