re: myriam...thank you!!the legality of There is indeed a parallel of sorts in the work i some times do

Often for FamilyReports i have to assess the relative merits of opposing parents with regards the residence and contact arrangements for their kids

However there is a rule that the FLA uses that seems in parallel with this long drawn out detention process and to then take action against the govt

The principle they use is that for interim decisions generally the status quo is not upset and where the stability of the child is at issue, then the interim decision should do nothing to change that.

The rub is when the parent on one side may have ended up with the kid in something less than optimium or fair means and by the time the interim hearing gets heard, maybe 1 year or more has passed.....

So now.........the kid is stable and the decision is reached on an interim basis not to change this

Then the case drags on and by the time it gets heard the kids are in schoool and really stable, maybe dont want to change so then that parent now has the inside run...

...all because of their actions that under different circumstances would be sanctioned instead of rewarded

Here in the detention centers...we have a similar process and by the time the process plays itself out, they feel they have some sort of claim

    I dont think they do?!

Indeed...... if they are going for damages and its the acts of the rioters et all that traumatised them
..... then by all means sue them

    ....good luck!!!

BTW miles, again your confusing the issues...the Govt policy and the running of the dcenters. Close but not the same.
