Stop tring to twist stats to bolster your gross anti-Western bias. Face the unpalatable fact that the TOTAL emissions generated by each country is the vital and most important statistic,by a country mile! Anything else is pure and utter hyperbole.

The most important stat in the world is the stat measuring TOTAL gas emmissions, and not by the emmissions per person, especially for a country with such a miniscule population as OZ. Especially when it is compared to the other main emitters with much much larger populations, the USA,307 million, China 1.3 billion, whilst OZ has only 22 million! Does any city in Australia incur the pollution that the citizens of the major Chinese cities are forced to to bear on a regular basis? It is miniscule by comparision. Even a first year student in statistics could tell you that. It's like comparing a poodle with a great dane. I bet you the comparable size of their 'emmissions' would not be the same.

That is not say, of course, that our Government shouldn't take action to reduce our carbon emmissions.

And I would expect that the decline in the carbon emmissions in the USA is probably due to its reduced industrial activity,as a result of its deep recession in the last five years. I wonder if it will continue this decline when industrial output inevitably rises. Short tern trends tell you nothing. We need to ascertain the long term trend and that, inevitably, will take time. Our emissions would not been effected by a decline in industrial output as we have fortunate enough to have been shielded from the world wide recession by the continuing (albeit slower)demand for our resources by China.
