Any oil that doesn't come up the pipe under it's own pressure requires energy to get it out.
Clearly tar sands would need a lot of energy but so would all the others, to various degrees.

There's got to be an end to coal, oil and nuclear. Not just for the changes to the atmosphere but also to stop the long term devastation it causes to water supplies and the sea.
