sector - i'm all three. would only be looking at surrounding suburbs, have a minimalistic lifestyle and its just me and my partner.
we're expecting to knock $50-70 a week off our rent. the reason is to put the savings toward buying a home in a cfew years so there is some sacrifice involved. we had a spare bedroom and a study/studio before so will probably drop to 2 bedroom place but thats ok. the ultimate goal of course is to end up in a nice home that we own
i don't mind packing, the garden is largely pots so will go with us (i like gardening anyway). Agreed, we wouldn't move for $10 savings. there is a cut-off point for the effort of moving for sure.
