Citi statement was that Linc are considering major restructure over next 24 months and looking to divest the shale and US oil and gas businesses via Barclays....

The Board would need to see the detailed offers via Barclays before they could make their final decision regarding divestment of the american oil and gas assets. So the company wording of the response seems to support the report without being explicit.

If the response had been "The board are not seeking to divest the US oil and gas assets at this time" then we could put it to bed as a false report. Their response seems to reinforce the report that although a final decision is not yet made the board are seeking offers to make a decision on divestment.

Of course the PR person could have just been somewhat vague and left it open ended by accident.....
