I agree with your calcs - about 18 cents per share if the year turns out as the last predictions have indicated.
Regarding the 'dirty linen' bit. It is normal when a CEO leaves for the new chief to take all the hits ASAP so that things look good for the rest of his term at the top. It is common in all companies, not just QBE!!
I regard QBE as a very good long term prospect and have just topped up my holding (yesterday at $11.10 which was about the top for the day - damn).
