Just to give further info for fine tuning the figures a bit, the estimate of over $1B was NPAT, but before amortisation.
Amortisation (deducted from gross profit) for H1 came in at US$128M, but the full year amount for 2011 was US$133M (H1 US$60M), and for 2010 the full amount was US$59M.
So, I guess H2 2012 amortisation could come in at a small amount...but then again, who would've expected the H1 figure to be so high!
Dividend policy states up to 70% of NPAT...the H1 dividend was paid out at 64% of NPAT, so it's a bit discretionary.
