    Back in those days solicitors often ran big mortgage books. But there would have been one very important rule, that is partners or staff and their associates should not avail themselves of these facilities. That Could result in conflict of interest, you don't borrow money from your clients or the estates you manage

    Which is why the ex Slater and Gordon solicitor went on 7.30 report. He said let the public make up their mind, examine the evidence and decide for yourself.
