Adversity has been described as the circumstances that bring out the best and the worst in people. To those posters who take delight in 'crucifying' others I say adversity has brought out your worst.
The smug comments by some over the last two days and the churlishness of those posts do nothing other than to display ignorance. To emerge from the shadows only after the event merely highlights your lack of depth of character. If you have always had the courage of your convictions - then why have you been so silent over the last 3 months - or are these really only newly found convictions; if so they should be treated with the respect they deserve.
Like many I am not delighted by the announcement yesterday. I expected a different outcome. Yes the results of the bottom section of HS1 were disappointing, but let's see how ENI responds and how the remaining production tests play out in HS, Guarame, and Thailand.
In the meantime if you can find the courage to criticise after the event, then find the courage before - it adds much more to your credibility rather than operating with 20:20 hindsight.
Lastly, some posters seem to believe that MEO has either misled or deceived Petrobras or ENI. Both are majors, they make their own decision within a tightly managed approval process – signing the respective JV agreements would not have been a trivial exercise but rather would have been subjected to significant internal review before being approved. To suggest that MEO has misled anyone is again simply a demonstration of your ignorance of the Oil & Gas world.
