re: amp to $7? a few thoughts gse, I reckon all sources of information are useful - its the interpretation that is the skill, LOL!

A few last thoughts re AMP.

Good friends of mine are leading AMP agents (blue ribbons, Diamond Awards etc). Last year they told me what a hard year they had had explaining to clients why their portfolios had suffered losses but invariably had counselled hanging on for a recovery this year.

Well, this year has been no better. Spent some time with them recently and they told me things have been bad again, more losses and clients are angry and want to see someone hurting..

Just think, a lot of the comments I'm seeing on here are the usual ones of 'if I pick this one right there will be a huge bounce'. I reckon you are wrong.

I reckon this is just the start of AMP's troubles. I reckon their systems are not good, but worse than that their market is deteriating before their and our eyes.

Their business is largely equities. What if this is just the start of the bear?

My friends hold over 60k of AMP shares purchased around $16 - $18. Last February on holidays I told them I had sold all mine (some purchased around the same prices) in AMP share topups but others at higher prices. They said I was mad.

Then in August with AMP bouncing around $13 they told me why sell now, its about to recover, they had worn all the pain already.

And today? Yes, they are still holding. Do the numbers yourself!!

Totally IMHO but if you are a long term buy and hold looking for AMP then wait, there is no rush. I think this stock will get to levels you simply won't believe and then it will stay there just like LLC, TLS etc.

Sure trade short term but if you are a bottom picker then just keep that finger out for the moment. If you thought you might get to buy AMP shares at $7 later, why would you pay $10 now?

The AMP is not a speedboat, its the Titanic. And as I said earlier, the Captains radar and steering do not appear to be attached to anything....
