relative to the arab lands, israel is only a small percentage - so realistically, it is a non event. israel is not endowned with natural resources eg no oil, no iron ore, no gold etc etc - just a bit of crap land, on the edge of the mediterranean.. so why not let the jews have the land.
even though, these days, watso is an atheist, watso used to believe that israel was the promised land, but now just accepts, that for whatever reason, the jews are a part of the landscape in the middle east.
one good thing about the jews (and the bit of land that they have), is that they become a focus for the oppressed arabs. it is good to have an enemy, who unite the people - and divert attention from the real problems
