I posted this yesterday. Olive's post seems to confirm so I'll repost, with your indulgence.
Bush publicly says it's about terrorism and WOMD. That's his story and he's sticking to it. The anti-war band says it's about oil. That seems OK with Bush too, as long as you don't mention HEGEMONY. I Imagine Basil saying "don't mention hegemony!" That is the real hidden agenda. America's attempt to rule the world economically is dead in the water as Japan's before it. If the World As You Know It is crumbling and has a max of three years left, and if you have the mightiest armed forces ever known to man, Aren't you going to play your joker? and play it soon? Iraq is just the first of a set of dominos.
