For UK customers to be eligible for Government grants, I would think it would be similar to when I installed solar in Victoria.
First the electricians installed the panels and inverter at this point my old meter was spinning backwards.
As soon as the installation by electricians was complete I informed my power retailer (TRU Energy) to request the grid owner (SP AusNet) to install a new Smart Meter.
Several days later the new Smart Meter was installed.
Then three days later an electrical inspector from SP AusNet made the final inspection. He said that he did not passed all instalations the first time and electricians at times have to come back, before final approval. This red tape process took over two weeks in my case.
My guess is that the Blu-Gen site will not register units until final inspection.
In other words until the t's are crossed and the i's
dotted, to obtain the Government grants and feed in tariffs.
