The big bang provides evidence that matter and energy is not eternal but had a beginning. This is what lead Albert Einstein to relinquish his belief in pantheism to theism.
The big bang occurred approximately 15 Billion years ago so everything that has a beginning has a cause.
Matter energy and time had a cause Einstein realized that with this evidence his theory of general realitivity was going to crash head on into a creator.
