I strongly recommend you stop mixing politics with climate science. It leads to a distorted, subjective view of the science when a more objective view is warranted.

As for teaching climate science, I don't know why you insist on quoting Pink Floyd. Roger Waters "played on the American leg of the Live Earth concert, an international multi-venue concert aimed at raising awareness about global climate change, featuring the Trenton Youth Choir and his trademarked inflatable pig" in July 2007.

Dave Gilmour's web site says this:

"What David & Polly consider to be The Important Stuff...

    CLIMATE WEEK

Climate Week is a national UK event, running from 21 to 27 March 2011, aiming to inspire action to combat climate change by highlighting real practical examples across society.

Thousands of events run by businesses, charities, schools, councils and many others are promised. Climate Week has the backing of over 180 organisations that represent a further 850,000 associations, eight political leaders across the spectrum, and many individuals including Kofi Annan, Paul McCartney, Lord Nick Stern (author of the Stern Report), Al Gore, Michael Palin, and Philip Pullman. It is also supported by countless bodies drawn from the sectors of Education, Science, Sport, Business and Local Government. Please click here for more details."

I guess they really can't choose their fans!

The science is in, get over it, and stop pandering to the vested interests that are muddying the scientific waters purely for short term financial gain.
