emma - gas typically migrates to the crest of structural traps.

At Gurame, this a large structure, and past exploration activities drilled at the extremities of the structure where the liquids are most likely to be.

The crest of the Gurame structure has only been drilled by MEO.

If you look at the earlier technical supplements, this current well was designed to optimally test the Baong sands and to a lesser extent the Belumai (best chance of oil). The sad Sally's at the time were upset the "oil leg was not being tested", but MEO have made the right choice by going for the gas.

In the future as MEO decide to appraise/develop Gurame, subsequent wells can be designed to better appraise the Belumai. With modern 3D over Gurame, and now excellent well-control, MEO will get this right.

I showed more than a month ago how MEO had encountered the Baong to with a couple of metres depth of where they had it mapped, confirming they understand the structure - in stark contrast to Heron, where Eni will no doubt that much more 3D will be required.
