Seems to be very much the the normal shakeouts you would expect from any largely criminal enterprise such as the PA and associated groups.

Always surprising that anyone would be surprised by actions such as these. A rival group probably just wanted in on the gun/drug/etc smuggling and other standover/extortion activity and decided that futher negotiations were a waste of time.

I remember reading an article recently to the effect that a US court had blocked some few billions of dollars of PA cash as a result of a death of some US citizens in Israel, the PZ being of course the chief sponsor and supporter of such terror related deaths.
I may be mistaken on some of the details.

It could be that this freezing of cash has put some considerable cash pressure on some elements of the PA.

Just my speculation.
