The only poll I have seen showed 94% of Australians against invasion without UN ratification.
What Bush is leading up to is destruction of the UN, which despite being a bureaucracy has also defused many a conflict. Without the UN the only disputes that will be calmed will be those that have US interests associated.
Bush is also increasingly damaging the US economy - even the oil sector would be hurt by low oil prices and the other sectors will be beyond rescue soon.
