Any acquirer would hold a long term startegic view when looking at EOC and I am optimistic of a counter-offer say at 50/50.
The market cap of EOC at 38 cents is a mere $71 M
Peabody bought Macarthur Coal for $4.9 billion.
That's 4,900 Million dollars.
At the price they paid for MCC, they can buy 69 x EOC !
