Coogee, anywhere where we can please get some general background to the rumour? I'm not taking a shot, I'm interested and not completely surprised if CSL did have something to say in 2013 on the Alzheimers front.

You'll recall a couple of months back, CSL announced its T2D breakthrough (with its international research partners). A lot of medicos view Alzheimers as a T3D - so, there MAY be some underlying commonality to their possible treatment - I'm only a layman, but it would make some basic sense.

Also, regards both T2D and "T3D" it makes both scientific and commercial sense for CSL to want to move with purpose on these fronts, as both are strong markets but potential treatment competition is also coming. The Koreans hope to be doing stem cell related treatment on Alzheimers in a few years, as indeed Australia's own "Mesoblast" is increasingly advanced on rolling out what appears to be a highly effective T2D and COULD even be in a Ph3 trial within 12/18mths using their impressive MPC technology (it's currently doing a Ph2).

Interesting times, well done to all involved in this exciting work.....
