oh well, took a punt today at 56c, figured the world ends in a week and the weekly chart shows progressive decrease in volume / spread as it approached support at 56c, hopefully translating to a decrease in selling pressure. Seems obvious the motivation for dropping the price is the 2.5% discount on the 5 day VWAP and knowing the SPP was undersubscribed by retailers suggests retailers will kick themselves for not subscribing and maybe be inclined to buy as the price rises and they realise they've been duped again. Anyone's guess though with Lynas. Lynas' obligations re waste, residue and products created from either of those and the 10 month window to find a permanent disposal facility are clearly understood by the Malaysian government. However, the latest news reports around this just seem like a sponsored fear tactic. Instos taking up the 2.5% discounted 5 day VWAP are currently looking at 57.2c / share, guessing they'll want to sell them for more than that and may be selling them to those retailers kicking themselves for not taking up the SPP. Next week will be interesting in any case.
