One really wonders why anyone is now "scared" about MSB's technology. Whilst none of us no the future, the current established FACTS are:

1) MSB has already injected its MPC technology into hundreds of people and numerous small and large animals, including primates and not a single subject has experienced a severe negative reaction to the technology itself.

2) One of the major areas on which this technology has been tested is the HEART - if you can safely inject something into the heart and people aren't falling over seriously ill/dead, it's safe to assume it's likely got the basis of a good safety profile going forward.

3) These are not man-made small molecule drugs, these are cells common to all of us, so there is both a lot of science AND logic that drives the effectiveness and safety of this technology.

4) The Really Great thing about MPC's, they appear to be highly potent in achieving what people want them to - I understand that the overwhelming majority of trial subjects achieved material health benefits from their MPC treatments - with many subjects "only" being treated with a single dose for testing purposes, in real world application, follow-up dosage would (will) be available, when required, to further enhance treatment outcomes.

5) Given point "2" above - ie, injecting into the heart, this MAY mean, in due course, a possible reduction in future Ph3 testing time-frames for safety etc, because if any product surely has a solid safety base, it's gotta be one that's been put right into the hearts of numerous trial subjects without serious incident - remember, whether it's the heart, lung, kidney etc it's the SAME basis of treatment, it's not multiple drugs targeted at specific areas, it's the same underlying treatment simply tweeked for different requirements - so, future safety testing YES, but MAY be not as detailed as for a new drug out of the lab for a new targeted purpose.

I suspect the MacBk negativity may be the result of events past that we have no knowledge of and feelings linger - who knows! All Mesoblast and Teva care less about is the effectiveness of the treatment, everything ultimately flows from that and right now, we can be soundly confident about the technology - it's already been extensively tested and used on large and still growing numbers of people!
