Hello ITS, I think you find its the product of stripping ratios and metallurgy. The 9.5 million oz is likely to be in the weathered zone and is easily, and cheaply, recovered by gravity processes and heap leach with a stipping ratio (waste to ore) of around 0.7. The other resource is the primary zone that will require more complex metallurgical procesing and a much higher strip ratio resulting in increased capex and opex.
ARD have taken the easy cash flow route and I applaud them for this. Well done. I just wish they would stop talking about what to do and get on with it.
