Just where does all that money donated to 'cancer research' go to?

Where would you like it to go? Research of course.

Even if one avenue of research prooves to be a dead end, that's the process of science. Unfortunately, they don't get it right first time. So yes, you donated dollars (if you do donate) can and probably will go towards proving one method or another does not work. In science, for every solution, their are thousands of failed trials.

You may view that as wasted money, but, I would view it as money well spent.

As someone very astutely already mentioned, look at life expectancy, and tell me that medical science is not on the ball.
