Are we going to be the cause of our demise? It's exactly these costs that are causing consumers to go into hibernation due to bill-shock - not excessively high interest rates. People no longer feel loose or complacent on discretionary spending, as everything must be accounted for - even smokes, grog and the pokies are taking a hit. I've had a gut-full of the media and their bank-bashing on the interest rates and what not. Why not go at the throats at the companies that are giving us 20, 30 and 40% increases on our bills, especially as our inflation rate is supposedly below 3%. What a load of croc.
