re: News: AlgaeTec showcase facility visit fr... Hi butcherboy
Just to let you know, I am cheering you from the sidelines.
I have been watching AEB for some time. Apart from the fuel they might produce I can see a possible market for their waste product in biodegradable plastics as feed stock [if that can ever take off]
Someone like Sdaji, who is sufficiently eloquent to be a champion for the 'don't worry about it brigade' is a tough opponent. I think you counter him[her?] well.
It is pretty obvious that the warming of the planet is undesirable. It is just plain silly to quote epochs of higher temperatures that happened when we were not around, i.e. those times when civilization as we live it would simply be impossible. If the planet continues to warm at the current trend there will be nobody left alive to say "Its all very natural"
The bit that I try to drum into people is that it is the changing rainfall pattern which is the clear and present danger. People are particularly complacent because they [smugly, fearfully??] think that it is no problem in their lifetime. Modern civilization is possible only due to reliable agriculture; if the rainfall patterns change radically, then, food security will be a thing of the past.
So apologies for the climate change post on the AEB page .. I occasionally post on the Science & Medicine page but it seems hardly worth the agro.
