I will ignore the early part of your post which is rubbish.

However, I do recognise that gaming is probably a factor.

One could argue that we have always had foes as kids.

In my day it was Cowboys and Indians. Shows how old I am.

But the realism today is probably a factor.

I think another factor in the US and elsewhere is this worship of commando types.

In the US, all troops are revered as heroes while I regard many of them as serial killers.
