The 2nd amendment says: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

The words "well regulated" and "militia" are in the first part but thats not what the nra nuts have brought in. This was also written in an era of muskets so lets not pretend that its written with todays weapons in mind.

The swiss comparison is one people always bring up but its a red herring which shows me that you either dont understand the issue or dont have the facts to back up your point of view.

The majority of guns are army-issued and every 18-30 years old Swiss male between has to do three months' military training, and many more regular refresher courses. The guns are issued because the people are expected to be part of a regulated milita.

There are also moves there to curb gun ownership.
