    In case anyone's getting confused they were 'reparations', jm69, don't even mention atomatic bombs.
    Anyway, it's all academic - I read somewhere that there are more Greeks in Melbourne than there are in Athens. I think it was Captain Mainwaring who said: 'the French are never much good after lunch, you know.', and probably much the same could be said of the Greeks. You can't have a revolution and a siesta at the same time.
    IMO, the analogy with 'a certain country' doesn't stand up, it's a very long time since the Greeks were known for their belligerency.
