When I was at UQ all the bio-chem lecturer would talk about Biota, myself studying the subject actually understood the thing fairly well.
I bought in and out of Biota over the years ...and hopefully am up overall.

The thing that killed Biota was the Tamiflu opposition, make no mistake about it!
this was exactly like the Sony Beta VS VHS.

    Now the basics
    1) There are indications Tamiflu is not as good as Relenza( Med reports read online)
2)Australian researchers are world leaders and lateral thinkers.
3)The Barda contract is a great indictation of the US govt . faith in Biota,
( personally I think Biota will meet the requirements IMO).
    4) For Biota to take off , there has to be a flu pandamic, and a stock-piling needs to happen, now BTA is in the US......who's meds do you think the govt will look at?
    5) since Relenza sales have been poor, the share has been overlooked.

    Future
    1) Biota is working on novel anti-virals.......Its hard beating little bugs, but high rewards.
2)They can now get funding easier for self marketing of Relenza and their other drugs.GSK took 90% of Relenza sales. I think $1bill+
3)If a pandemic is declared Biota should shine...IMO

I didn't like the move to the US since it complicated my holding , so I sold out, however the fundamentals are still there for why Biota is solid.
They just need to have a regular income and success in research and they should be fine.
